Positive Youth Development (PYD) 101

Tuesday, June 4 - Thursday, June 6

9:00-4:30 each day

IN PERSON: Ithaca

This highly interactive 3-day training will explore key principles of PYD such as positive outcomes, supportive relationships and environments, youth voice and engagement, and effective programming strategies. We will also examine the role of the youth development professional by discussing core competencies and dilemmas of youth work. Participants must commit to attending all 3 days.

A Question of Purpose

In this talk, Anthony Burrow will explore the concept of purpose and its critical role in the lives of young people. We will delve into how a sense of purpose can shape identity, drive motivation, and influence decision-making in the everyday lives of youth. Dr. Burrow aims to encourage a deeper understanding of how youth purpose can be nurtured and supported. Dr. Burrow is Associate Professor of Life Course Studies in Cornell's Department of Psychology.
